PeopleSoft Case Studies
Since 1995, Meyer has guided hundreds of organizations through PeopleSoft implementations, upgrades and ongoing support. Consider the following examples:
The United Services Automobile Association (USAA) is a San Antonio-based Fortune 500 diversified financial services group of companies including a Texas Department of Insurance-regulated reciprocal inter-insurance exchange and subsidiaries offering banking, investing, and insurance to people and families who serve, or served, in the United States Armed Forces.
Problem: USAA implemented PeopleSoft in early 2000's but needed assistance implementing much of the functionality that is delivered but, never used.
Solution: Since 2015, Meyer has partnered with USAA to implement month-end processing functionality and reports, testing and implementing the integration that is delivered between business areas, and supporting the financial and supply chain functional users. In addition, USAA is looking to move to the Oracle Financials ERP platform and Meyer is assisting with the conversion and testing efforts as well as gearing up and becoming certified to support the Oracle Financials applications once the migration is completed.
Cybex provides scientific basis for the development of exercise machines.
Problem: Cybex had been running PeopleSoft for approximately 20 years. After being bought out by Lifefitness, Cybex needed to convert from PeopleSoft to Oracle Financials since LifeFitness was running Oracle Financials.
Solution: Meyer worked with the Oracle Financials I.T. team to convert PeopleSoft data to Oracle Financials data. One particular challenge to overcome was how LifeFitness’s vendor table structure was different than Cybex’s. In turn, Meyer had to work with Cybex to ensure the proper information was transferred to Oracle Financials by reviewing each business process to determine if it needed to be re-created in Oracle Financials.
Clean Harbors is a provider of environmental and industrial services, including hazardous waste disposal for organization, including Fortune 500 companies, small waste generators and federal, state and local governments
Problem: Clean Harbors manually enters more than 1,000 invoices per month into PeopleSoft. This is a laborious process which has caused data integrity issues and ultimately delays in payment processing.
Solution: Meyer implemented a custom EDI process to import invoices electronically. This increased invoice processing efficiency allowing employees to work on other tasks that added more value to the company. It also provided direct cost savings while eliminating unnecessary paperwork and reducing the impact on the environment.
Texas Health Resources is a faith-based, nonprofit health system that cares for more patients in North Texas than any other provider.

Problem: THR had an old, home grown ERP system that did not integrate well between different business areas and other third-party applications.
Solution: Working in conjunction with PwC, Meyer assisted with a full implementation of the PeopleSoft Suite of products including eProcurement, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Project Costing, Asset Management, Lease Asset Administration, and General Ledger. This project spanned the course of a year with Meyer continuing to work with THR in the support and implementation of various PUM upgrades.
Draper is a nonprofit engineering innovation company which serves U.S. interests and security needs; advances technologies at the intersection of government, academia, and industry.
Problem: In order to find the status of an invoice, vendors were required to call Draper and ask for status. This wasted time for both the Draper AP team and each vendor.
Solution: Meyer created a vendor portal so that vendors could log in to view invoices and see statuses. Granting access to the vendor portal exposed the system to all vendors, so we had to ensure security I.e. each vendor could only see their info.
BDO delivers assurance, tax, and financial advisory services to clients throughout the country and around the globe.
Problem: BDO department managers lacked the means by which to understand the number of expense reports being submitted, which reports were not being paid, why they weren’t paid, and more.
Solution: Meyer created expense report real time analytics so the department heads could understand which expense reports were approved or not approved, but in real time. This greatly improved expense report processing for BDO.
